PRINT SIZE
Digital cameras by default record images in one of two aspect ratios: the proportional relationship between the vertical and horizontal dimension. Smart phones and point and shoot camera images by default have a 2:3 aspect ratio and digital SLR cameras a 3:4 one. This is the how an image sizes for each type without cropping.

To expedite matting and framing I use a wood flat black ¾” frame and 2” 4-ply archival mat border. I position the print inside the mat window so there is a ¼” paper border on the top and sides and ½" on the bottom whereI sign, title and notate the edition number. This is the standard I have used:
